Letter from School Leadership

Welcome to Resurrection-St. Paul School. I hope that our website provides you the opportunity to learn about our wonderful school community and the private Catholic education our students receive.

At Resurrection-St. Paul School, we are preparing our students to be global, digital citizens who will use their moral ethics and values to be productive citizens in higher education and in the work force. Recent studies have indicated that today’s kindergarten students will have an average of 10-14 careers in their lifetime and half of those have not even been invented yet. So how do we educate these students to make sure they will be prepared?

We do know that in order to be successful digital and global learners, students will need to be able to think critically, work collaboratively and know how to problem solve.

This is a bit different than the traditional curriculum of rote memorization and regurgitation. Here at Resurrection-St. Paul School, teachers strive to make their lessons inquiry based and project based whenever possible. Using varied assessments and an updated curriculum, teachers engage students to be active participants in their learning whenever possible.

Students who wish to be successful learners must also learn how to collaborate with each other. Our state of the art media center and several of our classrooms are set up to allow students to work together on tasks throughout the school day in an environment which encourages process and inquiry.

It is our mission to educate the total student. Academic learning through a strong curriculum, integration of technology across all subjects, enrichment programs built into the school day, and many student activities allow students to engage in a wide variety of learning.

Finally, and most important, is our faith formation. Each year our school adopts a religious theme. This theme is integrated throughout the year in the curriculum and through our monthly outreach projects. Students practice guided meditations on each Sunday’s gospel weekly, practice the Jesuit Examen daily, attend Mass twice monthly, and attend Eucharistic Adoration monthly. Finally, as a school community, we pray for vocations through a Vocations Cross which visits each homeroom during the year for special intentions.

We encourage you to browse our website as an introduction to our school and programs. We welcome you to attend one of our Open House dates or any school event to experience the welcoming presence of our faculty, students and parents.

Thank you for your interest in Resurrection-St. Paul School, a fully accredited Catholic school, located in Howard County, Maryland.
