On September 15, 2009, the United States Secretary of Education, Arne Duncan, recognized Resurrection-St. Paul School as a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence.
The Blue Ribbon Schools Program honors public and private elementary, middle and high schools that are either academically superior or that demonstrate dramatic gains in student achievement. In order to qualify for the program, schools must meet one of two assessment criteria. NBRS recognizes schools having forty percent of their students from disadvantaged backgrounds that have dramatically improved student performance in accordance with assessment systems, and it rewards schools having scored in the top ten percent on assessments. Resurrection-St. Paul School's eligibility was earned by achieving assessment scores in the top ten percent of schools in the nation.
